What do you like best about this course?:
the instructor
the online wiki was a great help
Vidit
the class was very laid back
The supplementary materials--the instructor's wiki and pdf files, and the instructor's positive attitude.
The instructor was quick to answer any questions
Professor kept the class very interesting, while encouraging teaching at the same time.
prof had a good personality
I liked having a quiz or exam at the end of every week because helped reinforce the material, and it motivated me to not procrastinate on homework or studying. I liked the material because it was a good continuation of Calc 2, and it also tied in Intro to Linear Algebra (250).
If you were teaching this course, what would you do differently?:
I wouldnt
provide example problems similar to exam questions
nothing
nothing
Nothing.
go slower, but it was a summer course
I would have one class period devoted to each of the actual maple lab assignments because it was difficult to work on them on my own, without being able to directly ask a question (in person). Then, if the students don't finish the assignment within the period, they have to finish it on their own. However, this will allow them to talk to the instructor for help and be able to show them on the screen and fix the problem right away, rather than having to pay for printing, bring it in for questions, and then have to edit & reprint.
In what ways, if any, has this course or the instructor encouraged your intellectual growth and progress?:
many
the instructor was very helpful and his online wiki was a great aide in studying as it supplemented the notes exceptionally
Personal interaction
responds well to questions
by encouraging me to do homework.
Presented the material in a fun manner and made the classroom a learning environment.
The instructor was definitely one of my favorite teachers so far at Rutgers. He related to all the students in the class, not just as an instructor, but as a fellow peer, and he made it fun to come to class. He also assigned grades fairly and was good at helping to prepare us for the quizzes and exams. He was very timely with posting notes on each lecture and homework problems, and he always answers students' questions about the material.
